Sermon: “How to make Jesus Happy”

Rev. R. Paul Hollman, Pastor of Greater Beulah Missionary Baptist Church preaches on the subject “How to make JESUS Happy.”  He tells how he was “happy” knowing that in his absence, GBBC continued to conduct church business.  In the mist of two family deaths the GBBC members also rallied to the aid of the bereaved. He was pleased to know that the choir continued to sing songs of worship when the organist had to move back to his hometown. His point was even in the absence of members, the presence of God is still in the midst. It made him happy that members, in his absence, took OWNERSHIP and let their lights shine in the community and in the lives of others.  The Pastor notes that Jesus exhibits one of his first emotions in Luke 10. Jesus is “happy” when his people come together in brotherly love, as one body, and do the will of God, not worrying about who is present, but knowing we are in the Presence of God and must do his will and carry out his orders.  Jesus is happy when we go forward even in the midst of tragedy or despair, we press on with God’s instruction.
