"Expectations of A Father
" Greater Beulah Baptist Church Youth Production Annual Youth Day Activities New Feature: |
Greater Beulah Baptist Church was begun in 1907 in the small Lakeview community of Dothan, Alabama. The name has evolved over the years due to several tragedies of fire from Beulah Baptist Church in 1907, to Adams Street Baptist Church in 1940, and then in 1975 to Greater Beulah Baptist Church, as it is presently known. It has always been a church that as the slogan says is, “A Church on the Move for God” and one that “Reaches out to the Community.” Since its inception the main thrust of ministry has been that of educating the congregations and reaching out to the community at large. In its one hundred year history there have been only five pastors, who each have had similar ideas concerning the direction of the church and its ministries. Each time the church was rebuilt more emphasis was placed on and provisions made to facilitate a growing congregation. The church’s growth has been constant over the years with membership recently growing to in excess of one thousand members since the present pastor Reverend R. Paul Hollman has been in leadership. With Reverend Hollman came his vision of Beulah Land. Beulah Land is a vision of inclusion: one that seeks to reach the masses—reaching them through social, physical, and educational, as well as spiritual outreach. To facilitate the vision, a Christian Family Life Center was constructed in the year 2000. Socially, it serves as a place for friends and family to interact through fun and fellowship. Physically, the gymnasium and walking track located in the life center provides a place for the physical development and physical well being of members of the congregation and community, old and young. Educationally, the life center houses Adult Education classrooms, Sunday school classrooms, and the Beulah Land Christian Academy (daycare/school). Finally, to be able to spiritually feed as many hungry souls for the Word as possible, a spacious new sanctuary was recently constructed. As its Statement of Faith proclaims, Greater Beulah Baptist Church has always been a church whose ministry matched its message. It has always been a church with its doors opened wide daily, preaching and practicing God’s word.

Message from our Pastor: Rev. R. Paul Hollman
This is an exciting time in our church and I am so grateful to God for each and every one of you. God is moving in a mighty way among our church family. Our goal this year is to worship and praise God and evangelize the lost. In order to meet this goal it will take each of us working together. As we pray together and study together I believe that we will see the tremendouus workings of God among us. Let's continue to invite others to join us in our wordship service and Sunday School.
